Allure of the Seas

World’s newest, largest ship, Allure of the Seas

Royal Caribbean has pushed up the debut cruise of the world’s newest, largest ship, Allure of the Seas, once again.

For the second time, the line has expanded the ship’s inaugural season, adding a “special” four-night cruise, departing Port Everglades on December 1. The itinerary will feature two days at sea and a call at Labadee, Royal Caribbean’s private beach on the northern coast of Haiti.

Bookings open. (March 31, 2010)

Originally the ship was scheduled to do its first cruise with paying passengers on December 12. Then last month, that was changed to December 5.

Guests booked on the weeklong December 5 inaugural sailing have until April 30 to choose to be re-accommodated in the same stateroom on the new “special” cruise, with a price adjustment for the shorter sailing. And those guests also have the option of adding the four-night cruise on December 1 to their December 5 booking (for a total cruise of 11 nights), in which case they’ll receive a $100 shipboard credit per stateroom.

The 225,282-ton Allure is a sister ship to Oasis of the Seas and will carry nearly 6,300 passengers at full occupancy, in 2,700 cabins.
